Who are Human Appeal?


Human Appeal is a humanitarian aid charity, working in around 16 countries to aid vulnerable communities during emergencies, fight poverty and improve their long-term resilience by supporting sustainable livelihoods.

Why it mattered

 
The video mattered as it created awareness of difficult situations around the world, along with generating donations to help the cause. It shows we are pro active when it comes to change and aid.

My role


I was responsible for the entire editing process, from direction to final delivery. Given the fact that it was such a tight turnaround period and also having limited assets/content to work with.

Challenges

One day turnaround, I was briefed at the beginning of the work day and given a deadline of the end of the work day. Typically for a video like this we would have a turnaround period of 4 days.


The interview was in Arabic and approximately 10 minutes long. This meant I had to read through the transcript and then decide which parts of the interview to use. Then adding time-coded translations.


Due to our content databases being so large, sourcing relevant footage can be time consuming, normally that would be fine but due to such a tight deadline this was challenging.

A meaningful case story that received positive feedback from my superiors and stakeholders, generating around 4k views on YouTube.
